Leaning back against the eaves of the Valenwright mansion, Adri looks over her feasting feathered friends, and then out over the Salma District – or at least over most of it. From her sleeve, she withdrew the card she’d received, fiddling with it. She’d already looked it over enough that her eyes didn’t stray down to it. It was just something to hold while she thought in the pre-dawn hours.
‘Why am I even considering this?’ She wondered, not for the first time. ‘Sure, it’s a therapist that Lux doesn’t already know… except I only have this card and her word that she even is one. With no office, and no clients. Well, she’s young, maybe even only my age, so new… and what little snooping I was able to do says that, yes, Corinne Kerrigan did go to school for such recently.’ She sighed, shaking her head at herself. ‘Ah, face it. You’re going to do this. And be trusting some lass you don’t really know – yet again. And that’s a good problem to start with her on… if I can even really be helped. If I’m not…’
She snorted derisively, getting some inquiring looks from the crows. ‘Oh, don’t flatter yourself, girl! You’re probably pretty bleedin’ ordinary for problems, and not beyond her training. Just give it an honest go and quit dithering when you already know what you’re going to do!’
With that, she played with the crows some, until they tired of it and took up their own pursuits. Then she sat, producing some parchment and an Asuran-make pen, and started writing, inquiring after the details for setting up an appointment.
