It’s in the way she
looks at me; as if nothing exists beyond the two of us. A simple brush of her
lips, a caress of her cheek earns me a look that no amount of gold or beautiful
verse could buy. My heart races, threatening to burst from my chest when she
looks at me like that. I feel that nothing more than that look and her smile
could sustain me for eternity.

Villain Lady: wouldn’t it be totally romantic and cool if someone blasted a giant heart into the moon for someone they loved
Heroine: that would be horrible, it could affect the tides and send debris raining down on the Earth, damaging the ecosystem and threatening lives.
Heroine: Anyways what did you want to do for our anniver- where are you going?
Villain Lady running out the door: BRB JUST HAVE TO STOP SEVERAL HUNDRED MISSILES HEADING FOR THE MOON THAT ARE COMPLETELY UNRELATED TO THIS CONVERSATION

Of all of the places you’ve been in your life, what was your favorite place, and why? Is there any place you would never want to go back to, and if so why not?

‘Hmmm.’ She mused a bit, considering the questions carefully. ‘What if… they’re the same place?’ She sighed softly. ‘As I think about that… I don’t have much in the way of places so much as… people, and events. For an actual place… my favourite would be the rooftops of Manor Hill – but even that’s because of… friends. I suppose I can’t quite call the ravens “people” – but they are my friends. They don’t judge me, and they try to cheer me up when I need it, and it’s all very straightforward and uncomplicated.

‘And for un-favourite… there was this one spot in Orr that was… unlikely to be cleaned up enough in my lifetime, and where … too many people died, almost including me.

‘Does that answer you, darlin’?’
